Yes, You Can Empower Women! Here are 3 Powerful Ways to Do It

The fight of women against inequality and oppression has come a long way but clearly, there’s still a long way to go. Women remain among the most vulnerable, despite the significant role they play in society and in their homes.

And while God’s children are called to stand up for each other (Proverbs 31:8-9regardless of race, skin color, or gender – women empowering women is one of the purest, most beautiful display of this calling.

What does ‘women empowering women actually look like?

Dear Juana, this Women’s Month, be encouraged that you can make a difference in the lives of your sisters around the world!  Here’s how you can empower other women in your own, little ways:

 1. Empower women through encouragement

While there is beauty and power in each and every woman, women are all the more powerful when they are united.

Showcase that unity by empowering them through words. Affirm them, validate their feelings, and offer comfort when they need it. Compliment, not just their physical beauty, but their intelligent minds and beautiful soul.

Encourage them not just through words, but through actions. How? Support their businesses, connect them to people who can help them prosper, offer any kind of help – just see how you can lend a hand and light up their day.

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”  (1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV)

2. Empower women through education

Every woman has the right to education, but sadly, education has now become a privilege – especially for young girls who belong to low-income families.

Here’s the good news: you can actually empower them and help them inch closer to their dreams!

You can help women thrive by supporting their education. Education doesn’t just empower women; it teaches them that they can live with dignity and use their skills for themselves so they can flourish in life.

Empower women by sponsoring their education or partnering with organizations that help young girls and women attain quality education, like the Operation Blessing Foundation PhilippinesWith even a little that you give, you can help them chase big dreams!

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. (2 Corinthians 8:12 NIV)

3. Empower women through prayers

It is undeniably the best way to empower and uplift other women.

Offer prayers and support to women, even to the “strong ones. Though it might seem that they have it all together, they may be fighting battles no one sees.

Go out of your way and give them the gift of prayerEmpower them with God’s Word. If you think about it, Women’s Month is an opportunity to honor the Creator by honoring His daughters!

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. (Ephesians 6:18 NIV)
