Show Some Love to Our Kababayans this Love Month! Here’s How

“Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Have you heard this phrase at some point in your life? Almost everyone is familiar with it, right?

But sometimes, people get too familiar with this verse in Matthew that there is a tendency to overlook the weight of this commandment and the real essence of loving thy neighbors.

Truth is, God doesn’t call His children to be just nice or just kind to people but to love each other wholeheartedly. And it takes great faith to live it out!

Are you ready to live it out? This love monthshow some love and share God’s heart to our kababayans through these simple yet practical ways:

1. Foster peace

Fostering peace is more than just abstaining from violence. It takes a whole lot of compassion, patience, forgiveness, selflessness, and intentionally looking after other people.

Ultimately, you can only live out peace if you already received everlasting peace from Jesus – the Prince of Peace. Do you yearn for the peace of God that transcends all understandingVisit this page and take your first step toward it.

2. Pray for your neighbors

It is pretty easy to start a conversation with a loved one, an acquaintance, or even a stranger. But have you ever tried to ask someone if you could pray for them?

If you have done that, praise God for boldness and courage! But if you have not done it yet, this challenging time could be a perfect time for you to ask people how you can pray for them – and actually pray for them.

3. Give to those who are in need

British leader Winston Churchill once put it brilliantly, “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.”

When all is said and done, being generous to others benefits not just the receiver, but yourself. For instance, The Harvard Gazette found out that giving makes people happier in life!

It also shows your obedience and increases your faith that as you give, your Heavenly Father will also take care of your needs.

“And he said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matthew 22:37-39 ESV)
