Do You Want to Start a Brand New Life?

Jaime Hipolito did.

But because of his painful experiences as a child, he thought that leaving everything behind and starting over again is impossible. He was molested at a young age by a pedophile and it left Jaime confused and scared for a long time.

I did not know that I was being abused. He would give me money and buy me food. I was afraid to tell these things to my parents. I thought I would be okay, so I kept everything to myself,” Jaime narrated.

Not until much later that he realized – he had to live with the consequences of that abuse.

He grew up imprisoned by the desires of the flesh. He worked as a macho dancer and flew to Japan to work as a host in a night club. Far from homeland, Jaime did anything and got everything that he thought would satisfy himself. He turned to alcohol, he gambled, he took drugs.

And even when he already started to build his own family, he would cheat on his wife over and over again.

Eventually, I got tired of my vices and habit of satisfying my earthly pleasures. I talked to God and told Him, ‘Lord, I am tired,’” Jaime shared.

Like Jaime, have you been stuck in this cycle? Are you tired and longing to get out of that old life?

Do not worry, help is here!

It came as a vision to Jaime, “I saw myself running in an oval that doesn’t have a finish line. I wanted to know God and experience the truth.”

God sent people who shared the gospel to their family. A concerned neighbor introduced Jaime and his wife to a pastor who helped them know Jesus. Jaime cried his heart out, repented of his sins, and surrendered his life to God.

When I heard John 3:16, the Holy Spirit moved in my life. I came to know the Lord!” Jaime shared. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jaime was inspired to share God’s Word and encouragement to frontliners like the police and the army.

Through God’s grace, Jaime experienced how to break free from the shackles of his painful past. Through God’s love, he experienced a brand new life.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT)

Like Jaime, no matter how dark your past is, there is restoration and peace – all you have to do is to receive His gift of salvation.
