This Christmas, Send a Gift through Operation Blessing!

Celebrating the holiday season this year would be different to many especially to our kababayans who are severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The country’s dedicated frontliners will most likely spend their Christmas and New Year while on duty to ensure everyone’s safety and selflessly attend to their patients’ healthcare and needs.

Likewise, there are people who would spend the holidays with scarcity and uncertainty.

Some of them are the ones whose lives were already underprivileged. Their already difficult condition even worsened because of this pandemic, like Dalisay de Guzmana widower and a garbage collector in a dumpsite in Montalban, Rizal.

Sometimes I earn as much as one hundred fifty pesos a day, sometimes one hundred twenty-six pesos,” Dalisay shared.

But because of imposed social distancing and quarantine measures, the mother can only work for 3 days a week which is not enough to provide the needs of her 10 children.

Dalisay and her children are some of the many kababayans who are already suffering from hunger due to the lack of livelihood. And to survive hunger, “We normally just cook rice with soy sauce and cooking oil, she said.

That has been their day-to-day situation since her husband had passed away. The burden of raising her children alone and finding ways to put food on their table every single day is already too heavy to bear, let alone to provide a simple Noche Buena for her loved ones this Christmas.

That is why it was a huge relief for her when Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines – CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm – visited their area and provided much-needed food items.

Although Dalisay remains grateful for the aid she received, we can do more. Together, we can send gifts to more families this season of giving!

Everyone is facing different crisis at this moment, but God calls the “righteous to give without restraint.”  (Proverbs 21:26 BSB)

While this is a season of merriment for many, countless families will be spending their holidays with empty tables and empty hopes. While some families are sad about not leaving their homes this season, there are families who will spend the Christmas and New Year in the hospitals and evacuation areas.

This season of caring and giving, you can send a gift to our kababayans in need!

For your every gift, you also give them the gift of hope and the opportunity to hear the saving love of Jesus – the reason for this season!
