To Aid Workers, Donors, and Volunteers, Here’s a Prayer for You this World Humanitarian Day

Living in fear and uncertainty. With all that is happening around, some might agree that these two words could possibly summarize the first half of 2020.

We’ve witnessed a volcano’s unrest, a deadly pandemic and economic crisis, bush fires, strong typhoons, and a recent bombing in a neighboring country. It’s no wonder why some people are swept up with feelings of hopelessness.

Despite these, there are still people who tirelessly give their efforts to lighten the burden of others. These reallife heroes selflessly devote their time to make the world a better place bit by bit each day.

This World Humanitarian Day, we continue to honor and pray for aid workers and people who provide life-saving support to those who are in need.

Thank you, Aid Workers and Frontliners!

While most people are cooped up indoors, you choose to be at the frontlines and brave the deadly virus. You endure the long days, sleepless nights, and that longing feeling to be with your loved ones to fulfill your duty of saving lives. There are no words to describe how grateful this world is for your courage and selflessness. Your efforts are deeply valued, not only today but every day.

The world might not know your name nor remember all the sacrifices that you’ve done. But God knows.

God sees and remembers every single life you touchedContinue to trust that He will protect, comfort, and strengthen you and your loved ones. May He always bless the work of your hands!

“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” (Hebrews 6:10 NIV)

Thank you, Volunteers!

What would the world look like without volunteers? It’s hard to fathom. You spend hours and hours to serve humanity, and you get nothing in return. Nothing, but sweet thank-yous, warm smiles, and genuine appreciation. Indeed, no compensation could amount to your relentless commitment to help others in need, no matter the circumstances.

Truly, volunteers like you don’t get paid not because you are worthless, but because you are priceless. Be strong in faith! God covers all your needs and appreciates all that you do. May you always feel His presence wherever the heart of volunteerism takes you.

“And if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.” (Isaiah 58:10 NIV)

Thank you, Donors!

Love comes in all forms, and you found yours in giving. Even when you don’t have enough, you still give. Your contribution doesn’t just reach the most vulnerable – you help transform lives and restore their dignity. Each support you give speaks to the beneficiaries that somewhere, someone out there cares for them.

Thank you for being an instrument of God’s overflowing kindness! May you never get tired of being a blessing. As He secures and strengthens your paths, trust that God will continue to bless you a hundredfold and fill your generous heart with peace, joy, and love.

“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.” (Proverbs 11:25 ESV)

Humanitarian acts come in all sizesFrom committing your lives to help others in the most extreme situations to sharing a portion of what you have to those who are in need – what matters most is your heart that shows love and care for God’s people.

Thank you, and may you continue to do everything in love. (1 Corinthians 16:14 NIV)
