God, Can You Heal me from COVID-19?

This has been Kamille Salvador’s prayer when she found out that she tested positive of COVID-19.

Scared, helpless, and grieving – Kamille was lost for words. Few weeks agoher father Resty grappled with and died of the virus. He was a brave army reservist for 8 years and served as a frontliner against COVID-19.

“He was loving and thoughtful. He was the kind of father who did everything just to raise our family. His passion as an army was remarkable, and he really wanted to help our country,” Kamille said, remembering the noble life of her beloved father.

Heeding the call of duty, Resty served as a frontliner on March 15 – the day when Metro Manila quarantine started. However, 5 days later, he started to feel unwell and was admitted in the hospital. Just hours later, Resty breathed his last.

“It was painful to see my father in an urn. I never had a chance to see him and tell him how much I love him. That was a very difficult time, I really wanted to give up. Why do we have to bear this?” Kamille lamented, eyes full of tears.

Just when Kamille thought life already knocked them down, life delivered another blow. Their whole family was considered as patients under investigation due to their exposure to their father.

Right then, the second tragedy hit Kamille. She tested positive of COVID-19 and was rushed into a quarantine facility.

Like any patient in isolation, fear lingered on Kamille’s mind, “What if I don’t win this battle? Not everyone recovers and I was scared that I might not be able to come home too.”

Away from her loved ones, God became her only companion as she fought for her dear life. She spent her days reading the Bible, praying to Jesus, and believing for miracles.

“I asked God for peace and strength. I also prayed for healing. God made me realize that what matters is my relationship with Him, and that I cannot do anything without Him, Kamille shares.

Little by little, her health condition became better. While in the facility, she shared the love of God and message of hope to her fellow patients to encourage them that there is light at the end of the dark tunnel.

On May 6, 2020, God heard Kamille’s prayers. She was officially declared recovered from COVID-19. Unexplainable joy filled her heart as the miracle unfolds before her eyes.

“God never left me. Even on my darkest night, He was there. He didn’t forsake me. Jesus was my fortress, and the reason why I’ve won my battle,” Kamille expressed.

Despite her harrowing experiences while fighting the virus, Kamille encountered God on her road to recovery. Even though her father did not recover, she knows he also won the battle because he was able to accept Jesus in his life.
