3 Reasons Why Men need a Mentor

Admit it or not, men, you have the tendency to take matters into your own hands and deal with your struggles by yourselves.

But then, God did not create you to be alone. You need brothers in Christ who will speak over your life to help you grow, mature, and reach your full potential in God.

It is clear in Proverbs 24:5-6 ESV, “A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might, for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counsellors there is victory.”

Here are 3 reasons why you need an accountability partner and a mentor.

  1. Feedback

It is difficult to pinpoint your shortcomings, but a constructive feedback will help you keep on track.

You need someone who can help you asses yourself. A man of God who will be honest enough to tell you when you are wrong and help in directing you to the way of wisdom and in leading you to the right path.

  1. Acceptance

An accountability partner and/or a mentor is a person who will not judge you for who you are now but knows who you can be.

He knows that you are still a work in progress, and he will go with you through the highs and lows of life. He will also let you know what you still have to improve on.

  1. Vulnerability

A real man is unafraid to expose his weaknesses.

You need a brother in life who you can be vulnerable with and unreservedly admit that you are struggling.

Real strength does not come from an arrogant stature nor a proud look but from a humble and teachable heart.

It is recognizing that you are limited and that you need an unlimited God to move in and through you and accept the people He has appointed in your life.

There are so many things that God wants to reveal to you!
