After her father died, her mother Marivic worked double job as a laundry woman and a vendor, trying to make ends meet. But then, it was never enough to send Marjorie to school.

Because of their family’s condition in Payatas, she thought she wouldn’t be able to get her hands on a diploma, or even graduate from high school.

That is why it was a huge relief for Marjorie and her mother when the Back-to-School program of Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines (OB), the humanitarian arm of CBN Asia – supported her studies. She graduated high school with the 2nd honorable mention.

Despite wanting to advance to college, she thought of giving up and just help her mother raise their family, as the eldest of 10 children. Marjorie lamented, “I lost hope. I knew that with my family’s situation, I can’t go to college.”

God heard Marjorie’s deepest prayers and blessed her heart’s desire. She continued to be an OB scholar which paved her way in pursuing the course BS Education Major in Filipino at a private school in Quezon City.

Sowing passion, perseverance and prayers, she bagged the Best in Filipino and Best in Math awards in her 1st and 2nd year in college, and was recognized as Top 2 and a Top in Science Achiever during her 3rd year.

“Through the help of Operation Blessing and our pastor, I came to know God. I was given a new hope, a new family in our church. My relationship with God deepened, prayers alleviate my heavy problems,” Marjorie happily shared.

Last May 3, Marjorie reaped the sweet fruit of all their labors and prayers. She graduated from college and offered the victory to her inspirations – her mother, and God. Their family also grows with the Lord as active members of their local church. Moreover, she leads the Daily Vacation Bible School every summer.

“I cling on to God’s Word, that I can do all things through Christ our Lord who gives me strength. Before, I thought I would fail. But when I think of His promise, I am assured of success because I am with God,” Marjorie ended.
