3 Ways To Defeat Your Insecurities as A Woman – Beyond Small Talk

Are you tormenting yourself with thinking that you are not beautiful and that you don’t measure up with those you look up to?

Well, the media that is all around you might have shaped your mind this way, or maybe somebody trash talked you before and made you believe that the bad things they said about you are right.

Fight off these insecurities because you are a woman created by God. Here are 3 ways from our Beyond Small Talk hosts Christine Kairuz, Bettinna Carlos, and Trish Chu.

  1. Battle the lies with the truth of God’s Word.

Do not forget what He says in Proverbs 31:30 NKJV, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

People may look at the physical appearance, but God sees not as man sees because He looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7).

  1. Learn to accept what you cannot change.

This doesn’t mean you neglect your body. It’s a matter of giving your body enough respect to treat and care for it properly, says Bettinna Carlos.

Remember in 1 Corinthians 6:19 ESV it says, “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

  1. Check your heart and motives.

Your ultimate motivation of improving your physical body should be to live a healthy life for you and your loved ones. Not because you want to gain approval or acceptance from others.

True beauty is inner beauty.

As 1 Peter 3:4 TPT it says, “Let your true beauty come from your inner personality, not a focus on the external. For lasting beauty comes from a gentle and peaceful spirit, which is precious in God’s sight and is much more important than the outward adornment of elaborate hair, jewelry, and fine clothes.”
