CBN Asia Awarded the Outstanding Huwarang OFW Winners 2018

SAN MATEO, RIZAL – CBN Asia, in partnership with I-Remit, once again awarded the Huwarang OFW 2018 in Ciudad Christhia Resort 9 Waves on December 10.

This is to give honor and privilege to outstanding Overseas Filipino Witnesses (OFWs) who had triumphed over the difficult challenges that they encountered.

The winners in the three categories – Missionary, Individual, and Family, were chosen according to the impact that they had in their families, workplaces, and communities.

“The Search for Huwarang OFW is our way of giving inspiration and hope to the oppressed OFWs. We want to let them know through the stories that they can brave whatever storms in their life if they have Jesus Christ,” says Rebecca Cabral, Founder of Huwarang OFW Awards and Executive Producer of The 700 Club Asia.

The Huwarang OFW Missionary 2018 category winner, Salvador “Buddy” Agunat, who have been in the ministry for more than 30 years shared the significance of receiving the award, “This is a great opportunity to remind each one of us about our responsibility of being part of the mission to share the love of God.”

Buddy is a missionary trainer and teaches Asian and World History to high school students. He is also privileged to be part of The Great Commission Foundation Inc. in spreading the gospel to different parts of Southeast Asia.

Edgardo “Bong” Suniga Jr., the Huwarang OFW Individual 2018 category winner and People’s Choice Awardee, expressed how grateful he is after receiving the award, “I feel honored and flattered but all the glory belongs to God.”

Despite being raised from a poverty-stricken family, Bong finished college and became a civil engineer armed with his perseverance and faith in God. He flew to Dubai to start his career and was able to give his family a comfortable life.

Bong helped OFWs with the training courses that he established and is currently supporting some Filipinos in their education.

“God is really good and faithful. When you really seek Him and put Him first, everything will follow.” This is what Joffer Narciso, the Huwarang OFW Family 2018 category winner, said when asked what he felt after receiving the award.

Joffer went to Qatar after finishing college.  He became a church leader who ministered to people who has issues with sexual identity. Now, he is full-time pastor in the Philippines and has established the Share the love of Jesus Foundation – a feeding and outreach program for the Aeta community.

Moreover, the winners said that the cash prize they received will be used to continually bless and give back to their communities and churches.
