Calamity

Our nation has experienced numerous kinds of calamity. Because of their frequency, people allowed fear to have a grip on them. The Bible is clear on how we should deal with fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 says “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” We discipline our minds to think and know that the One who loves us the most is in charge of our lives. Psalm 56:3-4 says, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.”
When you are gripped with fear of any kind, there are two things you should do. – 1. Identify exactly what your fear is.
2 Pray to God. When we pray, we are actually giving God the permission to intervene in our situation. We are declaring that the battle is not ours but the Lord’s.
Lord Jesus, today we choose to trust you with everything even with our very lives.
