His Promise of Peace

Bad news may dominate the headlines, but the Word of the Lord is high above the word of any newspaper!

Proverbs 4:23 tells us, Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. This means that you should be careful about what you allow yourself to meditate upon—including the bad news of the day—for your heart is the wellspring of life.

The passage goes on to say, Let your eyes look straightahead; fix your gaze directly before you (v. 25). The world gives out fear, discouragement, and plans for destruction.

Why? It has nothing else to give. But God’s Word tells us to keep our eyes fixed straight ahead. We live to follow the word and voice of Jesus!

And He tells us, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).

The Lord gives us His peace, His promises, and His protection. Our future is secure because we are anchored in Him.

God bless you!
