Apology Accepted: Netizens Support ‘Amalayer’

‘Amalayer’ finally has had enough. It’s time to close the door and put the past behind, and it seems like quite a number of netizens are finally done hating her.

After almost five months since her controversial “Amalayer” video went viral, Paula Jane Salvosa, who was caught on video berating a lady guard, appeared in a tell-all interview on The 700 Club Asia not to fight with anyone but to apologize and reveal her untold story.

In the interview, Paula poured her heart out, talked about her new-found relationship with God, and also grabbed the opportunity to admit her fault, say sorry and express her regret for causing the much talked-about scene she caused at the LRT 2 station.

It may have taken her one bold move to earn the support of her former detractors and tormentors, but for Paula, it’s worth all the risk. In no time, the interview spread rapidly and stirred up positive comments and reactions from Filipinos online and even compelled some of Amalayer haters to sympathize with Paula and accept her apology.

The interview, which was uploaded on The 700 Club Asia’s YouTube channel, became viral instantly. ABS-CBN’s late night news program Bandila even did its own news segment based on the interview, emphasizing how Paula now calls herself a “Princess of God”.

While many still remain skeptic about Amalayer’s transformation, Paula said she is thankful for all the hate hurled at her during that difficult time in her life. If not for the Amalayer video, Paula may not have found her new identity in Christ. | by Deb Bataller, CBN Asia

Tunay na-blessed ako sa story ni Paula. I admit kahit Christian na ako minsan nagiging self-righteous ako at nagiging judgmental kahit di ko sinasadya. First time ko rin mabalitaan about sa “Amalayer” issue na ito parang na-judged ko na rin si Paula nun time na yun without even hearing her side of story.
God is really the source of our strength and I commend your courage to share your testimony. I believed as well na maraming na enlighten sa story ni Paula kasama na ako roon. Na lahat naman tayo ay nagkakamali at may mga weaknesses, it is by God’s grace alone kung bakit pa rin Niya tayo tinatanggap. It just so happened rin na may nakakuha ng video na ito kay Paula pero kung lahat ng detalye ng buhay natin ay naka-record I believe that we have the similar situation or much worst pa nga.
Kaya ang lesson don’t judge so you will not be judged. No one is perfect but we have a perfect God that will continue to accept and forgive us.
    Glory to God.

    • Hi Emmanuel, Thank you for sharing your thought and reflections. Indeed, God is full of grace and mercy. Be reminded of Psalm 30:2 that says “God, my God, I yelled for help and you put me together. God, you pulled me out of the grave, gave me another chance at life when I was down-and-out.” God bless you!

  • ‘just want to thank 700Clubasia for praying with us last last year when my aunt got a heart attack. She was already unconscious at home for several hours unknown to family members. She already had her last gulp of air and her last “body shiver” even before she was put inside the van. The 1st hospital referred her to another one. I texted 700clubasia & DZAS asking to pray for her. She had been unconscious for several weeks. Then the doctor found blood fluids on the other side of her brain, so her skull was drilled and a hose drained the fluid. Yet after few days, water build-up was found on the other side of her brain, so another hole was drilled again. Then a catheter needs to be inserted into her thigh going to the veins… Other fellow patients in ICU lost their lives as days passed by. Still church members continued visiting her, praying for her outside ICU glass window; family members and pastors were able to pray for her inside ICU during visiting hours at Baypointe Hospital SBMA. Thank God, for extending her life! Many had said that her recovery after 2 months was a miracle . Indeed! She had now a hose inside her brain down to her belly to drain the water. Now she was able to walk by her own, though she doesn’t look strong anymore just like before. She may have lost her memory of her 2nd hometown, but her memory about people and her birthplace and previous home remains. But thanks to God, anyhow, she had her 70th birthday last Feb. I thank God for CBNAsia for being there to pray for us in times of difficulties.

    • Hi! Lito, we are so glad to hear from you regarding the testimony of your aunt who was recovered from her illness, truly prayer works and nothing is impossible with God, as He said is there anything too hard for me? Jesus is in control of our life, and whatever we ask in prayer , believe that we will receive.
