The Missionary Gift

by Christine Darg, missionary to Israel and the Middle East
(last of three parts)

I wrote a book, and this was published in Jerusalem, called 50 Gifts of the Spirit. Most Bible teachers, they teach the gifts of the Spirit that Paul mentions in I Corinthians 12. Paul only mentioned nine gifts because he only wanted to discuss the disputed gifts, but I found much more gifts, and one of these gifts is the missionary gift.

Romans 10:14 says, "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"

Believers who possess the missionary gift are graced with an unusual cross-cultural ability. They are given the grace to leave their country. They're given the grace to leave their families. This is part of the equipment of the missionary gift. The gift has that grace to let go for the sake of souls, to be able to disentangle oneself from one's family for the sake of the Gospel.
