Reuel Eleazar Tica | Huwarang OFW 2017 Missionary Nominee

While other families pass down an heirloom, a business, or a valuable property from generation to generation, Reuel’s family got something far more lasting and precious than all of those.

Reuel Eleazar Tica was raised in a Christian family where everyone shares the same zeal and passion to serve God and His people from his grandfather to his dad, siblings, and cousins.

Growing up with this kind of environment, Reuel, developed a genuine desire to know God in a personal way. He also carried the burning passion to serve in the ministry just like his grandfather and parents.

Because of this, Reuel sought God and went to fulfill his own purpose. Apart from graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from a Bible School, he also wanted to serve God through music.

He studied music, majoring in voice, at the University of the Philippines and gained Bachelors and Masters in it. He also became a part of the famous Madrigal Singers.

Reuel used everything that he learned to help improve the quality of music in worship services. While being fully sold out in serving God, he remained to be an effective head of his household.

After some time, Reuel and his family went to America where he pastored Hillcrest Family Life Baptist Church.

God indeed used Reuel’s family mightily to advance His kingdom. His story shows a glimpse of Joshua 24:15.

“But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” – Joshua 24:15 NIV
