Nancy Corsonada | Huwarang OFW 2017 Missionary Nominee

“God is the best employer and it is a privilege to serve him.”

This is how Nancy Corsunada views her service as a missionary in spreading the love of God. With her family’s love and support after leaving work as a Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines, Nancy went to Tapreak, Cambodia with other Christian missionaries. They ministered to the orphans and victims of the guerilla forces during the Pol Pot regime, teaching Cambodian women to make soaps and weave baskets for their livelihood.

Moreover, Nancy felt that the Cambodian women need more than the financial support. She extended her care through counseling as she believes that her mission is not just to help them earn and make a living but also be involved in improving their selves.

Nancy further studied the Khmer language to be able to share God’s message of love. With her dedication and concern, Nancy was able to touch the lives of many Cambodians. This inspires her to continue despite the challenges that exhaust her physically.

Still, Nancy does not count the service she has done because she believes that she cannot out give God’s love. She now continues with her goal to serve God, bearing His love as a missionary in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Nancy continues to trust God to sustain, protect, and guide her all throughout these. As what is said in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”
