How can you move forward from an agonizing encounter with the flames of fire your very own body is constantly reminding you everyday about it?
Rhen Galang is one of the survivors of the Ozone Disco fire catastrophe in 1996, also known as “one of the most tragic fire disasters in the Philippines” that killed 162 lives.
It wasn’t just mentally and emotionally, but Rhen went through very tough battle in his physical recovery after suffering from 3rd degree burn that affected almost his entire body.
18 years later, the scars from the incident remained very visible yet despite the limitations caused by the tragedy, Rhen knew that he needs to keep moving forward and go on with his life.
“Never give up, never say die,” these are the words of Rhen that speaks a lot of hope and courage everyone should have even after a season of grave tragedy or affliction.
Isaiah 40:31 NIV says, “…but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
With God, there is hope. With Him, it is always possible to overcome.
