Unanswered Prayers
Waiting Woman asks:
I’ve been praying for the longest time, but God doesn’t seem to hear my requests. Is there something I need to do for Him to answer my prayers?

Prayer is a wonderful privilege and a remarkable access to our heavenly Father. Every time you plead for your request, you must believe that He hears you. He hears your cries, the groans of your heart, and even the unspoken thoughts in your mind.
You can also rest in the confidence that He can give whatever you ask—according to His will. Holding on to this principle results to your faith in God that He will help you achieve whatever you solicit in Christ’s name.
All things are possible to those who believe. As the Scriptures says, “I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.” (Matthew 11:24)
Whenever you feel that the Lord is not listening to you, consider the following:
- Evaluate your motive or desire. The Bible says that the prayer of a righteous man avails much. You must have the right heart, motive, and attitude.
- See to it that your request or petition is in line with His will. The Lord knows the very best for you. He will not give anything that will hurt you in the end.
- Keep your trust in the Lord. Your trust shows your faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please God.
- Know the will of God by reading the Scriptures and spending time with Him in prayer and worship. By knowing His will, you would have a clear understanding of His plans. With this, you would be able to adjust your desires with His.
- Never get tired of praying. Your timing is different from God’s timing. Perhaps you expect a certain answer in a certain time, but God knows the best timing for you.
- Be open to receive a “No” answer. You have to understand that the Lord is not always saying “Yes” to your prayers. Try to evaluate your life’s circumstances to be able to discern God’s response.
- Have a positive attitude while waiting for God’s answer. Do not fill your mind with negativity. Though things may not go well, worrying would never help you.
If you are sure that you’ve done all these things and still haven’t received God’s answer, God has three responses to our prayers:
- Yes, I will give this to you because it is best for you.
- No, this won’t do you any good. I love you so much I don’t want anything that will harm you.
- Wait, because you are not yet prepared for what you are asking from Me.
Trust in the Lord. He knows what’s best for you!

God will not forsake us. Just believe in His powers and He will pour His grace, peace and love for us. I have many worries in life right now, in my health, family, finances, career. I am physically, emotionally and spiritually sick but I found God and asked Him to guide me through all these. Just trust everything to Him and He will listen to our prayers. Talk to Him and He will lend His ears. God bless us all.

Good day po! I need you to pray for me brothers and sisters, am experiencing terrible emotional pain..My bestfriend for 3 years just accused me negatively verbally yesterday. I have already forgiven him. It’s not an easy thing to think since I trusted him so much that I even applied for a post in their prestigious company during the Ramadan schedule thru his help, I passed the formalities, got the much expected offer on time but it seems I will not proceed because of the incident yesterday. I know God has stored a better plan for me, please pray that God will make me more strong as I am now trying to stand. I know that HE will make a way for me. Thank you brothers and sisters! Good evening po. Please pray for my mother po. May diabetes po sya, she’s injecting insulin na po. Dati medicines lang talaga tapos may bukol pa po sya sa balikat nya. while I’m reading all the comment here, I become inspired to trust and believe God more eventhough my prayer still unanswered.I’m having a emotional and financial problem but I know God will not abandon me nor turn back on me. I know God has a will for me it’s good pleasing and it’s perfect. I just need to have a right posture, right perspective and a right mind.

I am Winston Lising, sister of Walter C. Manuel. My brother , single at 40, had undergone “Craniotomy Surgery at Our lady of Mt. Carmel Medical Center here in Pampanga last Feb. 25, 2013 after he had stroke last February 21, 2013 causing a blood clot in his brain due to raptured brain nerve. He is currently jobless and relies on part time miscellaneous job only from the time he stopped working, thereby does not have a Philhealth.
Our family is financially drain already. Our current Billing is around 500 thousand already of which 140 thou which we had cashed out is excluded plus around 80 thou for his special milk and other prescribed medicines and temporary dialysis. We have referred already to politicians (no feedback yet) and PCSO (no reply yet) for financial assistance. we, his siblings along with our mother take turns in taking care of him in the hospital. Being the eldest and breadwinner in our family thoug I have my own already (got married at 39 and gave birth at 40 and now 46 yrs old) have been struggling hard because I’m just earning a very minimal pay with “no work no pay basis”…considering I applied for CA of 60 thou as my share when we decided to have him operated. Now my take home pay is not enough to meet our needs thereby always borrowing money from friends and familes. We were able to have his operation through solicited amount, however, his case, was not allowed to be admitted in the “Ward Section” due to certain complications…in fact, all his attending Physicians are specialized ones (for Heart, Neuro Surgeon, Kidney, Lungs etc…) thus, from a couple of days at ICU, then at a semi-private room…
As of this date, he is on “Feeding Tube” and breathing through a tube under his neck “shyley”. In as much as we were advised to have him discharged our bill is very huge and we do not have that much ready for payment. We have resorted to soliciting,praying to collect enough amount but we were already shut off from asking credit.
I am having sleepless nights and very stressed out. Sometimes when I get home I tried to watch your show to get some “pray over” where I could cry my heart out and have a temporary peace of mind…the next day is again back to reality…seeing my brother making sign language to go home or we do not have money ….it hurts me to see that so I always tell him stay healthy, help us pray so we could go home so that he will continue therapy in the house… Please please help us pray… I am lifting all my burden to JESUS because I cannot take it anymore….
