A Miracle Witness

BARAS, Catanduanes — “Behold, I will bring health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.” (Jeremiah 33:6)

This particular Bible verse manifested in the lives of Catanduanons as they benefited from a weeklong Operation Blessing medical mission in remote towns in Catanduanes island to answer medical and dental needs of residents.

One of them was Leonita Bernardo, 77, a native of Barangay Agban. She came to the mission to avail of a free medical checkup, but what she received was beyond what she could have imagined.

While waiting for her turn, Nanay Leonita fainted. Operation Blessing volunteer doctors immediately rushed over and performed first aid, exhausting all their efforts to help her. She was diagnosed with a mild stroke.

“Her blood pressure shot up and become unstable. She needs further evaluation,” said Randy Cenon, the volunteer doctor who assisted Nanay Leonita.

Upon the doctor’s recommendation, Operation Blessing rushed the poor grandma to a district hospital in Virac. While on their way to the hospital, an Operation Blessing pastor encouraged her to pray with him, and she obliged.

After praying with the pastor, her condition improved, as if nothing bad had happened. The hospital doctors did some tests and double checked her vital signs, and they couldn’t find anything unusual.

“After the prayer, I felt good. I felt much better and I really didn’t know what really happened!” Nanay Leonita exclaimed. “I can’t believe that miracles could really happen!” | by Bryan Arquiza, Operation Blessing
