CBN Asia Brings Ministering to Ministers to Hong Kong Christian Broadcasting Network Asia (CBN Asia) held its latest Ministering to Ministers (M2M) seminar last May 14 at an International Christian Assembly church in North Point, Hong Kong—the first time the Family of Ministries brought the marriage enrichment event abroad.
Around 50 Hong Kong-based Filipino pastors, church workers, and their spouses felt energized in their responsibilities in their ministries and families after listening to Peter Kairuz, CBN Asia President and CEO and host of The 700 Club Asia, and wife Christine.
The engaging husband-and-wife team exhorted every couple to keep their marriages ablaze by using different love languages; showing honor, respect, reverence, and value to one another; and improving their communication skills.
The seminar helped Raymond Ramos, a Hong Kong pastor for seven years and now heads a foundation, see things that need his attention. “[Ministering to Ministers] is a very good reminder. It’s so easy to be overworked and get loaded with tasks and completely lose time for my wife. So now I’ve learned to appreciate my wife more and my role as her husband and her pastor,” he said.
Dominic and Claire Quilaton, who just got married last year and recently accepted endorsement to lead a Filipino church in Hong Kong, saw the event as an incredible blessing. “We’re so privileged that there is a seminar like this that can help us in our marriage and in the ministry also,” they said.
M2M also made an impact to Rufina Felisilda, who supports her husband in ministering to a large OFW congregation. “There are things [in a marriage] that you really overlook, so this seminar helped me foster a deeper relationship and a deeper appreciation of my husband.”
This event was made possible with help from Pastor Oral and Mae Guevara of the Filipino congregation of International Christian Assembly in Hong Kong.
Since 2008, Ministering to Ministers has been catering to the need of couples in ministry to be encouraged not just in their calling but also in their marriage and family life.
M2M began as Peter Kairuz’s personal way of empowering local pastors in the Philippines. This CBN Asia event has blessed churches and ministerial fellowships in cities and provinces in the Philippines, including Manila, Cebu, Davao, Nueva Ecija, Bohol, and Bukidnon, among others. |
