Asian Center for Missions Empowers OFWs in Hong Kong

Asian Center for Missions (ACM) became a blessing to Hong Kong OFWs who attended the Global Bayanihan seminar entitled “Abroad Para Kanino? Understanding Different Models for the Global Pinoy” last May 15.

Around 20 Filipina domestic workers, who were all members of Word for the World Christian Fellowship in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong, were inspired after listening to Pastor Nathaniel Ramos, Philippine Director of ACM.

Pastor Ramos encouraged seminar participants with the life of Abraham and talked about how the Biblical patriarch fulfilled God’s plan even while in a foreign land.

After sharing experiences and praying together, all the participants were reinvigorated and received a new purpose for working abroad.

“As I go back to my employers, I want to influence them, and not the other way around. I will pray that they get to know Jesus Christ as their Savior,” said Belinda, a domestic worker in Hong Kong and church volunteer at Word for the World.

Asian Center for Missions is the cross-cultural missions training arm of Christian Broadcasting Network Asia, producer of the daily inspirational show The 700 Club Asia.

Last year, ACM launched its Global Bayanihan campaign as a strategic response to Christian missions through partnership with churches and organizations and empowering overseas Filipino workers as a new breed of missionaries.
